The Core Esthetic Program at The Beauty Backbar Academy is built for students who want a solid, skill-packed foundation in skincare. You’ll learn everything from facials and skin analysis to advanced waxing and lash lifts — all in a flexible 600-hour hybrid format that fits your lifestyle.

We blend hands-on, in-person training with online theory so you can move at your pace while still building real-world confidence. This program meets all Hawaii State Board of Cosmetology requirements for licensure, so you’ll be fully prepared for both the exam and your career.

Curriculum Highlights

In this program, students will learn:

Facials & Skin Treatments

Skin analysis, extractions, massage techniques, and product knowledge using Skin Script Pro.

Lash & Brow Basics

Includes lash and brow tinting, Elleebana Lash Lift & Tint certification.

Hair Removal Techniques

Hard wax, soft wax, face and body waxing, and advanced Brazilian waxing.

Sanitation & Safety

Infection control, client protection, and proper protocol for equipment and tools.

Theory & Anatomy

Skin science, disorders, diseases, ingredients, and client consultation.

Product Knowledge & Retail

Understanding product lines, retail sales strategies, and recommending regimens.

Client Communication & Care

Professionalism, trust-building, and ethical client relationships.

Program Schedule & Tuition

The Core Esthetic Program is a 600-hour hybrid training designed to be completed in 4 to 9 months, depending on your availability and pace.

Students can choose full-time or part-time scheduling, with a combination of in-person hands-on training and online theory (live or recorded). Flexible weekday, evening, and weekend hours are available to help you build a schedule that works for your life. After 7 months, a continuation fee of $500/month applies if additional time is needed.
